Rob has been monitoring COL conservation easements for five years. He enjoys hiking in the diverse landscapes and viewing the wildlife. This monitoring is one of his retirement volunteer projects. He also volunteers in Guatemala with four communities having issues with nearby operating and proposed mines. In addition, he will soon graduate with his fourth degree, which will be a BA in biology. Before retiring Rob worked for the Bureau of Land Management where he coordinated the cleanup of abandoned mines on Colorado public lands. This reclamation work was a career change away from working in the mining industry. The career change came after earning a masters degree in environmental policy and management. His first degrees were bachelors and masters degrees in mine engineering. Rob is married to Margie, and they have two sons, a daughter, and two grandkisses.
