A ten-year plan to protect the best of Colorado

In March of 2015, Colorado Open Lands adopted a ten-year Strategic Plan. The plan recognizes that to fulfill our promise of perpetual conservation, we must triple our prior pace of land protection, and invite more of Colorado’s citizens and visitors to connect with all the benefits of conserved land. Our plan calls for just that.  By March of 2026, we pledge to:

  1. Strengthen Colorado’s conservation ethic by connecting people with Colorado’s conserved lands.
  2. Conserve land and natural resources that define Colorado and the quality of life enjoyed by its citizens.
  3. Build an enduring institution through organizational excellence that can keep the promise of perpetuity.
  4. Lead and support the evolution of the land trust industry in Colorado and the nation.
